Victim Blaming 101 + Support for Survivors

In light of recent events, I felt compelled to use Wednesday’s with Whit as a platform to speak against victim blaiming. I immediately received an inbox saying how much this person learned just from me sharing and they admitted being guilty of victim blaming in the past. They verbalized being a work in progress and this made me smile. Truth be told, we are all a work in progress and I appreciate knowing that my voice as a Domestic Violence Survivor made a difference, one life at a time.

If you missed it, watch, take notes, and most importantly share! The statistics are staggering so if you haven’t been directly impacted by abuse, statistically you know at least one person who has. This could be the information they need to know that they are believed, supported, and not alone. On the flipside, it can be the dialogue they need to stop victim blaiming and listen without judgment the next time someone who has been victimized shares their testimony! If you saw it, let me know in the comments how this resonated with you. #notbymyown
