I Claim, Love, Honor, Deserve 

I Claim, Love, Honor, Deserve was inspired by a virtual retreat I attended for Survivors hosted by Breaking the Silence Against Domestic Violence. During this retreat, we were prompted to complete these statements and this beautiful poem was birthed. I do believe that writing is a therapeutic tool that helps to build emotional endurance. What is emotional endurance? Emotional Endurance is the ability to stay strong under challenging circumstances. I’ll be teaching my mentees this inside of Not By My Own Community on May 27, 2020. Wednesday's With Whit on Intellectual Radio: Overcoming Anxiety as an Entrepreneur

My word for the year is Prosper and it’s rooted in the scripture Jeremiah 29:11. This is the scripture that will sustain me when motivation isn’t enough. My year is off to an amazing start and I thank God for that. This first week of the month though, if I can be honest, had me extremely triggered as co-parenting with my abusive ex made it increasingly difficult not to regress emotionally. I have come way too far in my healing process to revert to negative behavior, so what did I do? I resolved that it was time to get therapy. Yes therapy.
